Judging Criteria

The judging panel consists of professionals from both agencies and brands. Jurors are experts in each of their respective categories. For example, Design AOY consists of designers and design-centric clients.

The judges score a body of work from individual agencies. They give marks to three/five separate campaigns, which are averaged to create an overall score for each shop. The Gold, Silver and Bronze winners are those with the highest total scores in each category.

The judges are asked to evaluate an agency’s ability to work in different product categories and across different media. In other words, they will be looking for both versatility and consistency. You should keep this in mind when preparing your submission.

Each judge fills out a score sheet supplied by strategy. Their individual responses are confidential. The judging panel will not meet as a group; they will review the work online and in isolation. If there is a conflict of interest with an agency or brand, they are asked to abstain from scoring that particular work.

The judges will score each case according to the below criteria:

AOY & Small AOY: strategy; creativity

Design AOY: craft/technical challenge; design creativity; impact.

Digital AOY: strategy; digital creativity

Media AOY: strategy; media creativity

PR AOY: strategy; PR creativity; impact
