Any agency vying to be Canada’s top digital shop will have put some time in building capabilities. But for FCB – which has successfully defended the title for five years – that’s no longer the only (or even top) priority. Rather, it’s the creative ideas that count, says Bryan Kane, president of the agency since the fall of 2019. Capabilities become irrelevant without the right ideas to bring them to life, he says. With that in mind, the agency focuses on giving its creatives more fire-power at a Canadian and North American level, encouraging greater collaboration between offices in Canada and with counterparts Stateside. Kane’s arrival and Nancy Crimi-Lamanna’s promotion to CCO for all of FCB Canada are just some of the steps it’s taken to ensure the well of digitally driven creative ideas never dries up.
