Founded in 2016, The Colony Project was born to be the scrappy, nimble little sister to Vision7’s more established Citizen Relations. And this year, as the world did a virtual pivot, that nimbleness paid off. When Katie Muir joined Colony as SVP in late 2019 to help founder Amanda Shuchat lead the agency, she didn’t know at the time that she was about to be thrown a pandemic curveball. Thankfully, with the right pieces in place and a reputation for responding quickly to cultural changes, Colony was able to navigate its way to success. Some plans were put on hold, such as growing its experiential offering, in favour of doing deeper on digital. But that didn’t stop Colony from growing both its headcount and collection of AOY hardware.
